Dr. Heather Holland Skrivanek, PhD, APRN, CPNP-PC, PMHNP-BC is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with 20 years of experience as an APRN. She holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Midwestern State University, and New Mexico State University. She is the former director of the PMHNP program at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her areas of expertise are in ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, Reactive Attachment Disorder, sleep-wake disorders, disordered eating, alcohol and substance abuse disorders, psychotic disorders, childhood development, family dynamics, and co-parenting. She holds certifications as an ADOS-2 clinician and in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her research interests include the impact of Covid-19 on child and adolescent mental health and empowerment and resilience in immigrants. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Shannan Smith, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC has 30 years of nursing experience, and is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Flight Nurse in the Air National Guard. She earned her degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at Arlington. Specializing in PTSD, ADHD, common family dynamics, common teenage challenges, co-parenting, mood, and anxiety disorders, she understands the critical need for mental health providers in both the civilian and military sectors. Her passion is in teaching and training, guiding new nurses and USAF flyers to achieve excellence and make a meaningful impact. Shannan’s goal in treatment is to support her patients in becoming the best versions of themselves.
